Perfume Station launches online store; experiences increased demand from Tier II and III cities

Perfume Station, an established perfume brand in the offline format has now launched its online store, The company has already opened 12 stores in India over the past one year and targets to operate over 50 stores in India by the year end.
Usage of perfume in India is increasing at a very fast pace among youth. “With a revolution in the communication industry, today’s youth is more aware of the changing fashion trends around the globe and are open to trying different perfumes at the same time” said Piyush Bansal, Director of York Perfume (India).

The trend of using perfume products is not only limited to metros but has penetrated to Tier II and III cities also and that is why online buying of fragrances is also growing with leaps and bounds. “Our objective is to bring perfumes to the masses so as to break the myth that Perfumes are meant only for the rich and famous” says Sandeep Kapoor, C.E.O of York Perfumes India Pvt. Ltd. All products sold through our on line and offline stores are designed & manufactured by in-house resources. The parent company behind these stores is York Transnational Ltd., which has 18 years of experience in the international perfume industry.

Currently the online store is maintaining more than 100SKU’s with special section for Men, Women and children. The website is currently selling perfumes across different categories, such as perfumes for special occasions, for gifting, for various personalities, according to zodiac signs etc. Another interesting section titled, “Facts about Perfumes” highlights various aspects related to perfumes.
The website’s user interface is fairly positioned towards serving their clientele. The company has tied up with EBS to be their payment gateway partner and has a 7-day shipping policy.

Currently the perfume industry in India is growing at 20% year-on-year, according to Perfume Station, but it will be interesting to see the manufacturers follow a multi-channel strategy and sell their perfumes in both online and offline formats.
