Retailing of Grocery and FMCG items in online space is on the rise with the launch of various sites dedicated to Grocery and FMCG products. The most recent one to join the group is imperialstore.in, an online retailer for gourmet foods in India.
“Imperial Store was conceptualized when we (a group of friends) were searching for international specialty gourmet food and each one of us liked different specialties. Two of us liked Italian, another Chinese, another Thai and one Mexican. We were unable to find it all under one roof, even virtually,” said Davinder Goyal, Founder, imperialstore.com.
With over 1500 products online, the etailer is offering a wide range of products on the site. The product range covers- gourmet food, organic, groceries, food & beverages, dairy, personal care, home care and baby products. International specialty foods such as American, Chinese, French, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Dutch,Singaporean, Spanish, Thai, UK etc. are imported from the respective countries, Goyal added.
Besides, the free gourmet recipes are available on the site. All products are delivered through their courier service partnersBlueDart, FedEx, and Aramex across India in 2-5 days depending on the location. The site supports Cash on Delivery (COD) on all the products.The company is looking to cross INR 10 Million in sales and revenue by the end of 2012. Answering iamwire’s question on funding and future plans, Goyal said, “Right now it is self-funded. We may look for venture capital funding if required in the future”.Category : Ecommerce News
