To cash in on etailing of sports gear, Indiaplaza launches online sports store

In order to tap the rising e-tailing category of sporting gears, has launched ‘Sports Store’ as a part of its lifestyle segment. The Sports store offers a wide range of sportswear and sports accessories and includes international brands of repute such as Artengo, Kalenji, Inesis, Quechua, to name a few.

S. Shriram, Head, Lifestyle at Indiaplaza said, “We are thrilled to launch the sporting vertical at Currently, shoppers have to travel searching for their preferred products even for a simple chore such as jogging or running. The store will feature over 5,000 products over 27 sporting verticals such as Cricket, Badminton, Golf, Hiking, Running, Fitness, Horse Riding, Roller Skating and so on.  All products in this category would be delivered free of cost to customers across the country. This is an inaugural offer and Indiaplaza may continue this as an ongoing feature based on the positive response from customers.

It aims to achieve leadership position in this niche segment. Shriram added “Parents find it difficult to buy small equipments for their children such as Roller Skates. Now they can simply shop online at our portal.”

In recent past, Indian consumers have gradually been becoming more aware about fitness and sports, consequently they are set to spend significantly high on sporting gears now. However, there is a wide gap between demand and supply of sports related equipments in the country as offline retailers have so far failed to service this category. Looking at the increasing penetration of internet in India + convenience factor, etailers have a fair chance to grab the overall market share of sporting gears retailing.

Indiaplaza is known for offering loyalty program, where customers can earn loyalty points for the category they choose.
