Exclusive: Liberty rolls out its online store

Liberty, one of the top 5 manufacturers of leather footwear in the world has unveiled its online store in India. Currently the website showcases 503 products across men, women and kids categories. It offers its own private labels such as Fortune, Gliders, Coolers, Windsor, and Force 10 along with signature collection by HrithikRoshan and Flexo-tec for men. It also has specials for women and kids.

Returns and refund policy on the website is not indicated clearly as it refers to “Liberty Shoes terms and condition page” which we are working to find. However the website does state that purchased products can be exchanged within 15 days from the original date of invoice. Another important information yet to be added to website is shipping and delivery time. It offers most of the payment methods such as credit card, net banking and Cash on Delivery (COD).

The website offers tracking of orders via linking to bluedart website tracking page. With a 4 level structure the products are well categorized and the website offers simple and rich user experience with certain good features such as mini shopping cart, recently viewed, product filters by Size, color, etc.

Iamwire take

Online retail will scale up and thrive in India with the participation of branded offline retailers. Awareness in the industry has gone up and offline retailers are now craving to go online. Retailers such as ShopperStop, Mahindra’s, Aditya Birla Group’s have gone online while others such as Timex, Benetton and Tata’s Croma are slated to go online this year. In our view, 2012 will witness organic growth with more brick & mortar retailers moving online thereby leading to growth of the etail industry in India.
