More, an arm of Aditya Birla Group has made its online debut with its portal At present it deals in 32 departments with electronics, accessories, and home appliances as its spine. showcases 42 major brands including Acer, Canon, HP, LG, Espon, Samsung, Olypus, Onida, Usha and Dell along with several others.

The online move of more can be viewed as big leap into the online channel as today’s e-commerce market in India is already experiencing slew of new ventures spawning @ everyday. This venture leverages its offline presence as the product you are ordering gets shipped from the suitable nearby more stores.

The website comes across as simple and basic with a mega drop down menu on top and a categories panel on the left which does provide an easy access to the appliance category page one may be looking for. For the online buyer who isn’t looking for a particular product, the site does not seem to be on the exciting side as the product showcase on the home page is limited in contrast to the other successful India e-commerce websites.

The search feature provides for all matching results in page-wise navigation with 12 products per page which can be filtered by category and brand, however, the important price filter is missing.

Delivery, Shipping & Payments

Currently delivers only to 31 pin codes across Bangalore and it claims to deliver the product in 7 working days, once the payment is confirmed . As more is facilitating the delivery from its offline stores we presume the quick delivery mechanism. It entails the return policy within 15 days; however, it is not applicable on discounted or promotional Products. On payment front, it provides Cash on Delivery (COD), plastic card payments (Visa, Master Card and Net Banking), Itz Cash, Oxi Cash and Done Card. Its digital payment is being powered by CC Avenue.

At the same time we see only electronic products on the website, which has not been the core competence of More. In our view Moremegabuys is testing the ecommerce water before it rolls out its pan India presence with extended offerings in Grocery, FMCG and fruit & vegetables.
