Exclusive: a2zbaby denies sale rumours, expects to achieve $ 2 million sales in 2012

a2zbaby.com an online baby care retailer has ruled out all the speculations of being on sale. The Times of India had reported that smaller firms such as a2zbaby with scant capital are unable to cope and looking for buyers. Interacting exclusively with iamwire, Premanshu Singh, Founder, a2zbaby, said “ a2zbaby is doing good and we have no such plans . We had launched a2zbaby in early 2011 and since then we are experiencing good traction. We are registering 65% growth month on month in terms of orders and revenue. We are expecting to achieve $2 million sales by the end of this fiscal”. He also added that a2zbaby’s growth should be considered from a start-up’s perspective.

A2zbaby is a brand owned and operated by Claymould Interactive Pvt Ltd. a company registered and headquartered in Mumbai. The founding team of a2zbaby includes Kapil Chawla and Premanshu Singh.  A2zbaby is an interactive baby product retailer, which caters to the needs of traditional shoppers. The site offers baby products such as diapers, skincare, carrier, pram, stroller, toys, books, games and wipes. “We are serving to more than 3000 pin codes and receiving orders from across the country. We have been growing tier 2 and 3 cities despite no television marketing efforts”, added Singh.

According to Singh, latest designs along with good price range are major drivers of sales from tier 2 and 3 cities. Speaking on the challenges still persisting in e-tail, Singh said, “Logistics and courier services are major challenge in this segment.” Talking about fund requirement, which is essential for any bootstrapped firm, Singh said, “Ecommerce in India is going through a transformation phase.  It will grow and evolve with time. At the same time, we are looking forward to investments to expand and set up our own logistics service.”
