ShopClues debuts on web, registering a Facebook like every 90 sec, a managed market place led by one of the global veterans in internet space, Sandeep Aggarwal has opened its beta version for all and sundry, prior to this ShopClues has been selling through Facebook and to a close beta group . The venture had already raised $2 million in funding from unknown global investors last year, said to be serial entrepreneurs and employees of some of the finest internet companies. ShopClues’s core founding team consists of Sanjay Sethi, erstwhile, Global Product Head for Shipping & Logistics, and Payments & Billing at eBay and Mrinal Chatterjee, former VP, Products & Services at Contenix Inc.

Currently, ShopClues boasts off 11 categories including Fashion, Health & Beauty, Home Appliances, Home & Garden, Computers, Electronics, Mobile & Accessories, Gifts, Flowers, Autos and Toys. Earlier, at the time of its closed Beta launch, had showcased only 9 categories. Amongst the two added categories Auto and Toys, Auto has caught our attention as it offers shoppers (especially youngsters) to have access to biking accessories & gears which is hard to find even in offline stores except metros and tier I cities.

Talking about’s decision to launch on Facebook before its web launch, Sandeep Aggarwal, Founder & CEO, ShopClues said “we are the first ecommerce site in India to sell through Facebook before web debut as Shopclues sees huge opportunities at social media fronts like Facebook. Currently ShopClues gets a Facebook like at every 90 seconds and interestingly we register conversion rate varies from 15 to 75 percent”.

Navigation and UI

It has features like my account that allows consumers to create profile, for tracking order status and request a return. Apart from these, also enables consumers to earn 2% of credit as a loyalty point at every purchase facilitated through credit card and net banking. Shopclues offers brand and budget (price) filters including multi tier menus for single click navigation. The UX/UI comes across lucid being on the intuitive side.

Shipping & Delivery

The website claims to ship the orders within 48 hours with the help of its own in-house end to end logistic. It offers merchants a market place that connects buyers and sellers online and offers a trusted and safe online shopping environment. Throwing light on the rate of sellers registering at ShopClues, Aggarwal said “ we are trying to bring as much sellers as we can on shopclues, at present we are bringing 10 to 15 sellers on everyday basis, however, in next three months, we will eye to have 15 to 25 sellers on daily basis”. Pointing out the best sale’s figure so far Sandeep said that somewhere in January ShopClues has closed 1000 transactions in two days with revenue of 10 lakhs.

 ShopClues uniquely offers “No Anxiety Shipping” that assures consumers not to worry and anxious after buying a product at Currently with Cash on Delivery (COD) it also provides online credit card payment option. ShopClues digital payment options are powered by Times of Money and CCavenue.

ShopClues claims to replace any order within 14 days of delivery, with free return shipping in case a product which is not as per the specifications in size, color, defective or significantly different from the description given by the merchant. Making emphasis on buyer protection Shopclues stresses on thorough screening of merchants before they brought on seller board. It claims to assure authentication and genuinity of the bought products with warranties and guarantees as entailed by the product.  ShopClues entails policies and rules in the form of common guidelines that create a safe, trusted and fair trading environment for all members.
