The online and mobile wing of the publishing group, Condé Nast India Digital announced the launch of Mobile (WAP) sites for their online portals – Vogue India, GQ India and Condé Nast India Traveller.
According to company statement the WAP sites are user friendly and will provide improved readability to smart phone users. Specific to mobile phones, the original format and images from the websites will be retained and the content will be refreshed daily. Condé Nast India’s website visitors accessing the portals through their phones will be automatically redirected to the WAP sites.
Throwing light on launch, Alex Kuruvilla, Managing Director, Condé Nast India said, “With the increase in smart phone usage and spike in internet access through mobiles, the launch of these WAP sites will further deepen our engagement with consumers who prefer to be updated on the go.”
Speaking more about Condé Nast India’s decision behind the launch of Mobile (WAP) sites, Maya Hari, Director Digital said that the launch of these portals will bring us closer to our affluent and discerning digital audience. Over 5% of the traffic coming to the Condé Nast India websites has been through mobile phones in the past and we expect this number to grow to a 15% to 20 % range with the launch of the dedicated WAP sites.
